Here I am…

graduated from the University of Iowa with a BBA in Accounting a few decades ago, ready to embark on a career that I had no idea would take me on such a wild and rewarding journey. Back then, I had big hair, blue eyeshadow, and a straight path in mind. The big hair and blue eyeshadow I sorely miss, but life had a winding, dynamic road ahead for me – filled with change, growth, and a deep desire to help others overcome their financial challenges.

Today, I am grateful for every twist and turn because it has brought me to where I am now: excited to share my knowledge with entrepreneurs and small business owners, helping them overcome their fear of money and thrive.

Throughout my career, I’ve worn many hats and learned valuable lessons in each role. My journey has been about building financial structures, fostering relationships, and empowering others to take control of their financial futures.

Decades of Experience, Delivered with Heart

Here are a few chapters in my HerStory:

Learning to Lead with Heart

My first role as a Senior Accountant at KPMG Peat Marwick taught me more than just numbers. I learned the power of asking questions in a way that put people at ease. This heart-based approach to finance would define my career as I transitioned into leadership roles.

A Love for Change and Structure: Vice President & CFO

At Blumenthal Lansing Company, a $20 million wholesale distribution company, I discovered my passion for leading through change. During a period of transition, I created financial structures that helped the company navigate acquisitions and consolidation. This experience gave birth to my CFO on the Go services—helping businesses structure financials for sustainable growth and navigate change.

Bringing Financial Architecture to Life

As Director of Finance at SkyPrairie, I built financial structures from scratch for startups. I created standardized processes, implemented systems, and helped companies thrive. My role as a Financial Architect emerged here, helping businesses align their finances with their vision.

Financial Translation in Action

At Pearson, I worked with a $30 million data center team and created a budget model that provided cost estimates for customers. I acted as a financial translator, helping non-finance teams understand the impact of their decisions. This is the cornerstone of my Financial Architect service—designing financial models and dashboards that provide clarity and transparency. The tools developed here have worked for businesses of all shapes and sizes from small start-ups to multi-billion dollar corporations.

Teaching and Guiding as a Money Coach

Whether in my role as an adjunct professor or working directly with clients like Josette LeBlanc, I’ve always loved teaching. Helping others understand their finances and transform limiting beliefs is central to my work as a Money Coach. It’s about so much more than just numbers—it’s about removing fear and empowering people to make informed decisions.

At the core of my work is a belief in financial empowerment. Throughout my career, I’ve seen firsthand how understanding finances can transform businesses and lives.

Here’s what I believe:

Money Doesn’t Have to be Scary

I help you shift from financial anxiety to empowerment, providing tools that make decision-making easier.

Financial Translation is Key

I make complex financial data simple and actionable, so you can confidently lead your business forward.

It’s All About Partnership

I am a finance leader who likes people more than numbers, so collaboration is key.

In Peace, Love, and
